Stole these thoughts about the Financial Bailout

Nobody likes to think about extinction. Or death. Or companies failing. Scary, right?But here's the part that doesn't get touched on enough: Horse & buggies got replaced by cars. What if horse & buggy manufacturers had gotten bailed out? Oil lamps gave way to electricity. What if lamp makers had been well-heeled & able to squash this new wired technology? (burn, baby, burn?) (soot, baby, soot?)The fact is, when something (unfortunately) goes away, it often (happily) gets replaced by something better. So don't be afraid. It's definitely unstable and may seem frightening, but it actually is the natural order of things. Nobody ever said life wouldn't be turbulent.The greatest part of JR is that even though he has an astute political and economic mind, he actually transcends politics. In one moment, you think: "Aha! He's a republican - he hates paying taxes!" But then he spends 20 minutes talking about caring for our neighbors - succeeding by helping others to succeed - that would make even the most bleeding-heart liberal jump up and applaud. With JR, it's not about red states and blue states. It's about the United States. (sound familiar?) And Taiwan. And Hong Kong. And Australia. And the entire world. It's about lifting yourself up out of the hole, and then making sure to take a few people with you.I'm tempted not to write anymore, because I really can't do the man justice. But his message, in a nutshell, is that nobody can save us but ourselves. Government can't do it, and greed can't do it. We, a collective of individual entrepreneurs, can succeed where institutions have failed.And change happens; you can't stop it, so you may as well figure out how to capitalize on it. The key is an entrepreneurial mindset. The path is to personal economic freedom. Let's get to it.

Wow! We are less than four weeks away from World Conference and business is booming. This is a follow up to my 2009 New Years message that I made a couple days ago — the one I promised to send out this week.
By now I hope you have resolved to make 2009 your year — the year that you made it happen and broke free from working for someone else's dream. I hope you are seeing yourself in a new light with a new identity at a Pin Level that will give you more ongoing income and freedom than ever before. I hope you followed my advice and instructions to set new goals and go through the five steps I outlined last time to write a goal statement.
Just as important, I hope you are committed to being at World Conference in Miami from February 4-7 to get empowered with knowledge, enthusiasm, passion, clarity and direction. And I applaud you if you are one of those individuals who have decided to take the shortcut to success by getting others there in your group, as well as some new quality prospects. Undoubtedly it is the shortcut because they leave these events so enlightened, determined, and know exactly what to do — they will go build the business with or without you! I guess you could say that makes you what I call a hopeless success. It doesn't matter if they are stable, waiting, Go Now, been in it a while, or new to the business. This is a fresh beginning and a whole new era for Market America.
There couldn't be a better time than now to make it happen, because people are listening more than ever. People are looking for answers and we have the ultimate solution. We have an immediate fix for people's economic woes, as well as a long-term, permanent solution for financial independence. Americans, and people all around the world for that matter, need to hear our message. More importantly, they need to see and understand what we do and how it can change their lives.
We are riding the crest of a tidal wave toward the paradigm of the future. There is a strong riptide pulling business away from store retailing and flooding Internet marketing, because it is so much more efficient and cost effective. We are developing technologies and adding partners, which makes us superior when compared to any other business model. We are simply the best because we have people power, where a Customer Manager serves as a personal interactive guide on the Internet and a professional product broker.
It is important to understand that the economy crashed in the financial markets at the top of the pyramid — not at the bottom where most Americans make it happen day by day. People are still productive and ambitious, want to work hard, and are willing to do what it takes to maintain their lifestyles and buying habits. But they are looking to buy smarter.
Furthermore, we offer an entrepreneurial opportunity that does not require going into debt or financing, and it is designed for the average person with vision and ambition to climb to economic freedom. People need (and are looking for) a plan B like never before.
The proof is in the pudding. We have experienced both sales growth and recruiting growth in all markets over the last two months, while other businesses have slowed down, have been contracted, or simply have gone out of business. People not only need to hear our message and be shown our plan, they need to see the light. They need to feel the power, the energy and catch the fever of belief and passion to really understand it. What can I say — besides the media exposure, traffic to the site, recruiting power and supporting great causes — we are going to have FUN. This will be an incredible time.

The bottom line is that I have never been more excited, because it just seems like our time has come — the timing is right and all the pieces of the puzzle are coming together at once to make the dream and vision a living reality for every UFO and customer this year. It will be monumental! It will be historic and you will want to be there with a record number of people for yourself. Once World Conference is over, it's over — you have to play catch-up and then wait for 2009 Convention in August for another opportunity to make a quantum leap. So let's make it happen. Message from JR Ridinger CEO of Market America

Well, it is hard to believe, but the holidays have come and gone. It is a brand-new year ahead with brand-new possibilities. 2009 promises to be the year that the Market America vision I have been preaching since the very beginning becomes a reality — to change the way people shop worldwide. That one-to-one engine that powers the business is becoming a reality right before your eyes — just make sure they're open! It will be a year full of breakthroughs, new deliveries and releases, and Market America along with its UFOs will reach remarkable new levels of success.
When I say Happy New Year, I really mean it, because this is going to be a happy and prosperous new year for Market America. While most companies are cutting back, we are expanding. While most companies are firing, we are hiring. While most people are tightening their belt and living in fear, we (ma's global community) are expanding our horizons, prospering, dreaming and growing. While the retail industry is contracting and closing up locations as in-store sales plummet, Internet marketing is growing by leaps and bounds.
How is this possible? Why is Market America a contradiction to what is happening in the economy and the exception to the trend?
First, our prediction of a paradigm shift away from brick-and-mortar stores to online shopping is becoming a reality. Our prediction that One-to-One Marketing and entrepreneurism would be the new wave is proving true right now. The downturn in the economy and the leveraged financial bubbles bursting simply serve as a catalyst to speed it up. The inefficiencies of mass marketing in stores have become more pronounced and apparent than ever before. The inconveniences of shopping in stores are abundant — fighting traffic, waiting in long lines, fuel costs, and not being able to compare products instantly across stores or brands for the best price or best features. This is causing people to move to online shopping at a record rate.
The overhead of retail stores is causing companies to go out of business while we can pass on the savings in our business. Internet shopping eliminates the need for costly inventories spread all over the country and eliminates the exorbitant cost of mass media advertising. Better yet, we are able to match products to people and people to products simply because we care enough to find out exactly what our customers want. And why does Market America do Internet marketing better? Because of YOU — we have people power! People still want to be treated as individuals and have the benefit of a personal shopping guide who takes sincere interest in what they want. We simply offer the best of all worlds.
2009 will be the year that many of the technological benefits and advances that I have been describing in my vision become a reality and are part of everyday life at Market America for both the UFOs and customers! It will become an addictive customer shopping experience… just like a cell phone becoming a life line, a blackberry a "crackberry," Google becomes a verb to find things, and the Internet is now a way of life. Market America will become an addictive shopping service that people can't live without and everyone will have a Market America UFO as a product broker, Customer Manager, and personal online shopper (One-to-One Marketing professional).
The second major factor is that people are shaken and awakened by the economy and the lack of job security. Entrepreneurism is thriving and people need a plan B. People are keenly interested in supplementing and expanding their income because they are concerned about the escalating unemployment rate and they are looking for solutions and alternatives like never before. Make no mistake — everyone needs a plan B. But investing in a large business or starting a company that requires a large investment is not realistic for most people in this economic environment, not to mention financing is harder than ever to find.
We have the solution with the UnFranchise® Business because it does not require a large investment and doesn't involve the risk that traditional models carry. This business requires minimal startup money and can be built to any size through positive cash flow. We are the solution in this economy. As a result, we are growing faster than ever. The proof is in the pudding! October was a record month in sales volume and recruiting. Recruiting was up overall, and both volume and recruiting held steady at the same rate in November again, as other companies slowed down and shrunk. So, it is 2009 and you are in the right place at the right time.
We have always anticipated this happening and to a large extent, we planned on it. It was inevitable in an economy built on overleveraging, ridiculous convoluted valuations, and a bubble of greed resulting from cash-flow models that could not support the inflated values they claimed in the marketplace. The economy was destined to implode. The bubble had to burst — we just didn't anticipate it happening so fast or suddenly!
Market America is not overleveraged and our model is rock solid. We are a real business that has a better method of merchandizing real products that people need and want at competitive prices. Better yet, we provide an opportunity at the grassroots level of this country. It is driven by matching people to what they want at values that are real. People are beating the doors down for our products and then we take it a step further by finding whatever else they want on the Portal. We band together to leverage our collective buying power to provide better products at the best prices and, in so doing, create an ecosystem of entrepreneurs and customers — our own sub-economy providing ongoing incomes to those who make it happen. That is what the UnFranchise and MPCP are all about.
The economy hasn't failed at the bottom. It caved in at the top where the greed and insanity became too heavy. It wasn't from a lack of production or demand for consumer goods and quality products. Commerce will go on and great products at the best prices will thrive. More efficient ways of buying continue to thrive. There is no doubt, you have made the right choice and you are in the right place at the right time. I guess you are just smarter than some of your friends and neighbors who didn't get in. Maybe they will smarten up now and listen. If they don't, oh well — that's their problem.
2009 can be the year to remember — the year you made it to financial independence. It doesn't matter if you have been in for years, or are just starting. It doesn't matter if you are a high Pin Level making lots of ongoing income, someone who made some money and plateaued out, or if you are brand new. This can be the year that you break free if you ride this wave of growth in on the top. The difference between success and failure is so simple! The individual who succeeds simply does what the individual who failed didn't do. So what is it that you need to ride this wave in? What are the things that put you on top? It's 2009 and this is the time to make resolutions and set goals. Resolve that this is the year you make it happen with Market America. See yourself as a Director. What does a Director do, what do they say, and how do they act? Be one all the time. Do the things a Director does and you will be making the ongoing income that goes along with it.

FIRST: This requires setting goals.
Start 2009 out right and get on board with the program. What you set in motion now carries in motion throughout the year and beyond.
Here is what you have to do right now — this week:
1. Decide what you want? How do you want to live? What is your "WHY?" How do you want life to be? How would you live if you could make your custom-made life? List five to 10 material things or regular activities and characteristics of that custom-made life. Arrange them in order of smallest to largest in cost and/or importance. What does each require in income to achieve? That should provide you increments, milestones or a graduated staircase to your dream. What is the total cost of them combined on a monthly basis? What level in the business (Pin Level) provides that income? You need to define it and think it through first.
2. When do you want it? You must set a time or a target date. It doesn't matter so much if you miss it, because you will readjust it with more experience to be more realistic. Shoot for the stars and hit the moon. It can change — but you need a target date. Make it exciting but realistic. Get some help in determining a realistic date based on how much time you will put in and how hard you will work. The date can change or you can change what you do to meet the date. Eventually you will get a realistic date if you measure, monitor, adjust and control. Then when you hit it, you will realize and experience the miracle of creation — because you thought it, focused on it, and believed the goal would become a reality.
3. Determine what you will give in return or are willing to do. Also, what do you have to overcome or change in order to make it happen? List potential landmines, potholes, obstacles, shortcomings or fears we all must over come on such a journey. Everyone has them, but identifying them and setting out to overcome them is half the battle. Best of all, your line of partners will help you! If you can have anything you want in life for the rest of your life — what are you willing to do in return in order to have it? How much time, travel, training and money (in the way of tools) will you contribute? How many meetings will you hold? Will you learn to show The Plan? Will you listen to an audio every day? Will you travel to two national events per year?
4. Determine what you have to accomplish or build in order to achieve the Pin Level that translates into the income you need for your goal. How many centers do you need qualifying and how frequently? How many legs or organizations do you need to build in order to qualify weekly (Professional Coordinator or above)? How many people do you have to sponsor to build those legs to that level? How many meetings or Plans do you need to hold or show to sponsor that many people? How many prospects do you need to call? How much volume can your UnFranchise generate to contribute to this goal? Then divide it by 12 to determine what you must do each month to hit the yearly goal. Divide that by 4 to get the weekly goal. And divide that by 7 to get the daily goal. If you accomplish the daily goals, you automatically achieve the weekly, monthly and annual ones. This may be an over-simplification, but you can get counseling from an experienced leader on exactly how to do it to perfect it. The process of breaking goals into small units of result-producing activities is critical to your success.
5. Write what you have done from 1-4 above into a 50- to 100-word statement and read it twice a day. It is absolutely magical. If you do it for 30 days, it will become a habit and you will be amazed at what you will experience.
The bottom line is that the people who make it do this and those who don't do not make it. The amazing thing is that anyone can do it, and it ultimately becomes your choice.

SECOND: Be at World Conference no matter what.
If you really want to know the shortcut to success, it is getting two to four people there for yourself. It is one month away. It may be hard to find tickets, but where there's a will, there's a way.
Call up your partnership line all the way to an Advisory Council Member to get help, and then call the company at 800-232-8590 for help finding them.
I can tell you without reservation that this World Conference will be historic. Some might ask, "How can that be? They are all one-of-a-kind, life-changing experiences." It's because there has never been so many factors converging at one time in the history of the company. Later his week I will provide a list of all the things we will unveil and all that you will learn and experience at World Conference at American Airlines Arena in Miami. But if you ever wanted to convince someone to do this business — all you have to do is get them there. The rest will be history.
I have never been so excited! Not only will you get the quality of information from the top minds and icons in the business, but so much of what I have envisioned and talked about for years is becoming a reality at this event. Undoubtedly, anyone who goes will pack six months of learning and development into one weekend.

We are in the process of planning evening concerts to launch maMyWorld, with major artists like Alejandro Sanz, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Paulina, and many emerging artists for the entertainment Portal, including Dennis Franks with his band, Second look, and some other big discoveries and surprises at the networking party. It looks like Governor Charlie Crist will be there to speak on entrepreneurism and free enterprise. Obama couldn't be at this one because of the inauguration but we are talking seriously about 2009 International Convention.
We have a major opportunity meeting for the Hispanic community with national figures and all types of media. Be looking for Latino and Hispanics in the Miami area to invite. There will be so much to teach and show you that missing it would be a huge mistake. The stuff we will unveil, release, show and teach will blow your mind. We have the solution and we are ready to unleash it February 5-7 at World Conference.
The point is that if you want 2009 to be your year and to ride in the tidal wave of growth on top, you have to be there. Period. And if you get a record number of people there for yourself, your business will explode and never be the same. Once again, the difference between success and failure is simply that the person who succeeds does what the person who didn't succeed did not do. You are either there or you are not. You either got people there or you didn't.
You should know the best investment you can make in this economy is in tickets to this event, as it will result in ongoing income. It sure beats securities (stock), investments or money in banks. Invest in yourself or someone in the UnFranchise System — that is where the return is! Put what money, time and desire you have to work for yourself into a business that really works and is booming in a stressed economy. People really need to hear this message and they need to see the light. Besides, you cannot lead where you will not go and you cannot teach what you do not know.

MA Result Producing Activities

Hello MA friends and family. I'm sending out my best of wishes to you are your family in 2009. As we have heard and read from JR, 2009 is already proving to be a magical year for MA and everyone who is actively pursueing the 2-3 yr plan.
I would like to share some of my recent experiences and plant a seed for more to come in 2009. We all know the economy is in the deepest rut since World War 2. The unemployment in Nov was over 490,000 and Dec 600,000 expected to reach 9.2% rate by 2010. Today I decided to visit businesses in Erie since we had over 11 inches of snow. I visited over 25 businesses from successful Gold market to Chiropractors and Dodge Auto Dealerships. I walked in with the idea of starting the relationship. Didn't take any info with me like most door knockers. I had a great time and enjoyed getting to know businesses in the community. I generated 6 solid leads who want more info and 2 agreed to have coffee. Most told me to come back during tax season when they had cash flow. Some of the questions and dialogue went like this.

HELLO HOW ARE YOU? HOWS BUSINESS ON THIS SNOWY DAY? YEAH, THAT'S WHY I'M OUT TALKING WITH BUSINESS OWNERS TODAY. AND YOUR NAME IS? AND YOU OWN THIS STORE? MY NAME IS DANIEL AND I AM A BUSINESS OWNER AS WELL. I OWN A ONLINE FRANCHISE STORE WITH MARKET AMERICA. FROM TALKING TO OTHER BIZ OWNERS TODAY, THE ECONOMY IN ERIE IS EFFECTING CUSTOMER RETENTION AND PROFITS ARE ON THE DOWNSIDE. ARE YOU SEEING THIS TREND HERE IN YOUR BUSINESS? THEN GET TO THE BOTTOM LINE OF WHY THAT'S HAPPENING. WHY SALES ARE UP OR DOWN. most of the conversations lasted 10-20 min and we were not interrupted by any customers. the one business that was expanding was the Gold buy/trad biz. but his biggest complaint was working 10hr days mon - sat and not having a personal life. HE wanted more info soon. Most of the business owners were not busy and would have carried the conversation for half hour. I highly encourage this result producing activity, you will get more practice explaining what you do, why you do it, and how you can help. Just have posture, speak slowly and have fun sharing until you hit the hot button.

On Jan 6th I visited 20 Doctors offices and dropped off Nutrametrix overview, 2 ten minute conversations with chiropractors, and had an appt with a MedSpa. This appt was from cold call, actually talked to Dr when I set the appt and we exchanged questions over the phone prior to appt. So I had some research accomplished on their website prior to appt.
I walked into the spa 10 min early and developed relationship with clerk who was actually an estetician (spelling) . After 10 min conversation about the spa I confirmed her wellness experience with supplements, I offered a Isotonic cocktail (OPC-3, Reservatrol, Multi) and the Dr stepped into office while I was mixing solution. She wanted one and then a 93 yr old patient walked in and wanted to try it as well. All three felt a health buzz within 10 minutes, I overheard the Dr talking to partner and patient about how the product tastes so good and so forth. That set up successful appt. Then met with Dr. and presented the 7 reasons. She understood and wanted more info which will be presented along with financial plan in one week.
She also has a 92 yr old customer already who purchased all three products from her, gave her retail profit.

Professional Selling Steps: 1. Smile and greet with posture. 2. Explain why you are in store, check for time acceptance. 3. Ask open ended questions. 4. Find the need behind need. 5 Confirm the need with closed ended question.
6. Offer support with benefits. 7. Check for acceptance 8. Ask another open ended question. 9. (close and set next step once benefits supporting need is accepted) Any reason why you wouldn't want any more info on how 10. get business card 11. set appt or just confirm the next step.

I'm sure everyone is taking advantage of the unlimited audios. This is a huge deal, having over 50 labeled cd's on hand is a prospecting goldmine.

Life's short, Live well

I know it's a cliché, and a rather sad one, but every year seems to pass more quickly and the only good thing I can say is that it makes the motivation to "do it now!" even stronger. Hopefully as I get older I'm also getting smarter, more efficient and more selective about where I put my time and energy.When I think back, I see many projects and commitments that I would never invest in today. I done some pretty dumb things.Many think they will live forever and that time is their friend. Money is spent, and risk is rarely considered. Accidents and injury only happened to other people, and everyone takes some foolish chances. If you're like me you probably thought that you could even afford to waste time. (Silly us!)I think I've gained a bit of perspective, but in some ways I still "play." Even this past year I've foolishly wasted so much time, money and energy on things that seemed like "fun" or were "impressive" or "daring" but which gained me very little. I hate to think I still act like a teenager trying to impress my friends, but I know that some of that was involved.Today, 27 years old, I have some regrets, but I'm amazed at some of the things that seemed so important at the time. With the economy tight, we have opportunities to use our time and energy better than before. We have the chance to review our goals, our priorities and our choices, and make adjustments if necessary.My sense is that we can only focus on a very small number of things at a time. Yes, we've all learned to "multi-task" and be "busy about many things" but I suspect that at the end of the day, we can only really focus on a very few things. And here's the terrible thing--that short list represents the heart and soul of our lives.While it's nice and fun and exciting to be to be busy and impress our friends, my fear is that "our hearts aren't in it." Our hearts want focus, fulfillment and joy. I think that comes from choosing well and committing to the few things that are truly important to us.In 2009, live better than before. Choose your focus and be clear about your priorities. For most people, these might include spirituality or personal growth, time with loved ones, health, and perhaps business or career. If you have other choices, that's fine, but clarity is key. You really can't do it all, and I'm sorry to say, you really won't live forever. So use this new year wisely. Choose well and make it a good one.Life's short. Live well.

New Years Resolution

Year 2009 is already proving itself to be a very magical time for my family. God continues to bless us and I am extremely grateful to have such a beautiful, healthy family. I think that's Enough Reason Why to follow through the following resolution.

My New Years Resolution is to practice being more organized. Allow me to break this down into more specifice measurable goals. The most important area is time management. I have alot on my plate for 2009 and if am successful in managing my time wisely then the rest of my goals will follow in suite. I will start obeying my alarm clark at 0545. This will give me time to study the bible, study for promotion(TSGT), spend some time with Emily, complete daily business admin, workout, and be at work by 0930. So I won't hit the snooze button more than once.

The next important part of organizing my life is documenting my records(planner, taxes) journaling/blogging. I always procrastinate recording my tax documentation until the end of the month and by then I've forgotten a few things and even misplaced some receipts. This is very important and I will start a daily accounting record along with journaling my activities and what I have learned throughout the day. This shouldn't take more than 20 minutes at the end of the day. This blog is apart of my resolution. I have been procrastinating this for awhile.

So I think these are pretty solid impovements to help me organize my life and schedule.
